The Bender Family - Nolan's One-Year Session: Part One

I was so delighted when Kathryn contacted me to photograph her sweet family. In our short time together it was very evident that Kathryn and her husband, Andy, are incredible parents who find great joy in their two children, Hadley (3) and Nolan (1). 

I love it when families agree to meet for sunrise sessions. Yes, it may mean an early call time, but there's something magical about the morning light, the sparkling dew on the ground and the quiet stillness of a new day just dawning. This particular morning we set out to capture some family portraits, but also to celebrate little Nolan's first birthday. 

I love what Kathryn said when I asked what the word "family" meant to her: 

"To us, family means the people we surround ourselves with that love and support us. Some are related and some are great friends who we love to share important moments in our life with."
