Baby Ricky - Newborn Session

Please join me in welcoming a sweet new addition, darling little Ricky! This precious bundle made traversing the icy streets of Charlotte all worth it. 

Dan and Daphne are settling into parenthood with such grace. You can see the joy in their faces as they begin to include Ricky in their new daily routines. Even Wilbur, the family's rescue dog, has warmed up to having a new baby in the house. 

The couple’s home, with its nod to mid-century modern charm, was warm and inviting. I was amazed to learn that Dan had sourced and refinished much of their furniture. I was so inspired that I immediately began scouring Craig's list for my own promising treasure! Of course I had to run my find by Dan and Daphne for approval. 

Though rich with detail, Ricky's nursery is a space of soothing calm. I loved the juxtaposition of the two-tone mid-century furniture, luxurious leather, and soft texture in the woven wall hanging. Dan and Daphne were also purposeful in infusing the room with plant life. The fiddle leaf fig tree and succulents add a pop of green in the otherwise neutral room. 

I was delighted to photograph Ricky in his Moses basket, which was thoughtfully gifted to the family by their neighbors. I think their dog and cat might be a bit jealous of the baby for having such a special place to nap!

Not only has Daphne recently received the new title of "mother"; she is also in the midst of completing her OB/GYN medical residency. Daphne shared that becoming a mom has only strengthened her desire to care for women and their families. Any woman would be fortunate to have Daphne as their doctor...
